FPDV / CHRONICLES / Miz Residency / Istambul

Aiming to be a platform for contemporary art, Gallery/Miz opened its first space in Teşvikiye, Istanbul on October 19, 2011. As its spatial policy Gallery/Miz has decided to exhibit international art in addition to Contemporary Turkish art, moreover it is a place for established artists as well as for young artists.
Apart from displaying contemporary and modern art, it will mark its place in Istanbul’s cultural scene with gallery talks by distinguished guest speakers and seminar programs organised on the current issues of contemporary art.
Gallery/Miz is planning to bring young international art into the art scene of Istanbul with AIR (Artists-in-Residence) programme in Summer 2012. The space, which includes the works created during this programme in the yearly programme as the first exhibition of the season, follows a policy that is open to all disciplines of the visual arts.
Being open to collaborations with all cultural institutions, Gallery/Miz begins to undertake social responsibility projects.
Gallery/Miz, which believes that the number of superior galleries must rise in order that art evolves and the artists express themselves, continues to serve international art in Teşvikiye, Ahmet Fetgari Street No: 28A.
